Biography

Fouad El Haddad joined LALIVE IN QATAR LLC in 2013.  He is a Lebanese-qualified lawyer with more than seventeen years of experience practicing in Middle Eastern jurisdictions and in-depth knowledge of Qatari law and the Qatari regulatory landscape. He specialises in corporate and commercial law, including corporate restructuring, mergers and acquisitions, foreign investment, and commercial contracts, as well as in banking and finance and employment law.

 

Fouad El Haddad regularly advises private companies, government agencies, developers, lenders, borrowers, suppliers, and engineering and construction firms on projects and transactions in Qatar. In particular, he has extensive experience advising local and international companies on the establishment and structuring of Qatari joint ventures, corporate acquisitions, and on a wide range of regulatory matters, and established the first wholly foreign-owned companies in Qatar. He is a member of the Beirut Bar Association, the International Bar Association and of Insol International.

 

Before joining LALIVE IN QATAR LLC, Fouad El Haddad trained and practiced corporate law with two leading Lebanese law firms in Beirut (1998-2002), and then practiced with Clyde & Co in Doha (2007-2013). He also served as General Counsel and Company Secretary of Actel Middle East and IFP Group, a group of companies operating across the MENA region (2002-2007). Fouad El Haddad holds a law degree from La Sagesse University in Beirut (1998) and a Masters degree in Business Law (DEA) from the Lebanese University (1999). In 2011, he completed a workshop on Islamic finance structuring (capital market products and Sukuk documentation) in Qatar (Redmoney).
